Dr. Brown
General Dentist
Dr. Brown is a graduate of the New York University College of Dentistry where he also completed his general practice residency. As a member of the Group Health Dental team for over 25 years, Dr. Brown enjoys working with patients to develop comprehensive care plans focused on each individual’s specific needs and concerns. Dr. Brown specializes in general dentistry with an emphasis on esthetics and implant restorations. Dr. Brown is also a proficient and avid musician and guitar player.
Dr. Benito
General Dentist
Dr. Benito is an NYU dental school graduate who completed his residency at Saint Joseph Hospital Trauma Center. His goal with his patients is to make them happy with their smiles. His specialties include general and cosmetic dentistry. As a clinician, Dr. Benito was a member of a reputable honors program.
Outside of the office, Dr. Benito enjoys race car driving, scuba diving, tennis, skiing, and cycling. Dr. Benito is also known for serenading his patients on occasion.
Dr. Efron
General Dentist
Dr. Efron attended the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, graduating in 1995. He then moved to Brooklyn for a two year trauma /dental residency at Woodhull Hospital. He loves the practice of dentistry and looks forward to Monday mornings. Dr. Efron has practiced dentistry in Manhattan for over twenty years and still can’t believe it.
Outside of the office, Dr. Efron is an avid soccer player who has played competitively since the age of seven. He enjoys reading everything and anything. Dr. Efron lives in Park Slope with his amazing wife and two wonderful sons.
Dr. Salaverry
Periodontist
Dr. Salaverry was awarded her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine after receiving a Bachelor of Arts with honors from Dartmouth College. She obtained a Master of Science in periodontics during her residency at Columbia University, where her research examined the prevalence of periodontal disease in patients with advanced heart failure.
Recently, Dr. Salaverry published a paper entitled “A Dentist’s Role in the Treatment of Halitosis” in the October 2013 edition of the dental journal Compendium. Dr. Salaverry takes great pride in emphasizing the connection between oral health and overall well-being. She is passionate about saving teeth whenever possible and finding a way to replace teeth that have been lost. Dr. Salaverry is excited to be part of a team that gives someone their smile back. Her specialties include evaluating periodontal risk factors, non-surgical and surgical treatment of periodontal disease, treatment of halitosis, and aesthetic implant therapy. In addition to private practice, she has been an instructor of clinical dental medicine at Columbia within the Section of Oral and Diagnostic Sciences (Division of Periodontics). In 2013, Dr. Salaverry became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Outside the office, Dr. Salaverry is a violinist with the New York Repertory Orchestra and performs in several concerts throughout the year. Her other hobbies include attending musical theater and movies, cooking, yoga, pilates, and fantasy football. She is also a member of the New York Junior League.
Dr. Otto
General Dentist
Dr. Otto graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and completed residency at Montefiore Medical Center. Her mission is to provide comprehensive and quality care with emphasis on oral health education, restorative and cosmetic dentistry in an atmosphere of warmth, integrity and grace. She believes that every person and tooth deserves respect and makes this her priority daily. As a result of her altruism, leadership, service and dedication to the field, she was recognized by her University in 2018.
Outside of work, Dr. Otto enjoys running and has completed a half marathon. She can also be found cultivating her horticulture skills, enjoying the arts, and is learning to play the acoustic guitar after playing the piano for ten years.
Dr. Burke
Endodontist
Dr. Patrick Burke was born and raised in Long Island, NY where he attended college at Hofstra University. While attending Hofstra University, Dr. Burke studied Health Sciences which furthered his interest in Dentistry. In his final year at Hofstra University, where he would go on to graduate with Cum Laude Honors, he was accepted into New York University College of Dentistry. During his studies, Dr. Burke found a love for Endodontics and was accepted into the Endodontics Honors Program where he could further explore the specialty he would later pursue.
Following graduation from New York University College of Dentistry, Dr. Burke attended a one year General Practice Residency at Montefiore Hospital before being accepted into the New York University College of Dentistry Post-Graduate Endodontics Program. During the two-year specialty program, Dr. Burke was trained to be a specialist in all aspects of Endodontics including Root Canal Therapy, Root Canal Retreatment, Periapical Surgery, Dental Trauma, Vital Pulp Therapy, Regenerative Procedures as well as Resorption treatment. Dr. Burke puts an emphasis not only on quality patient experience but also quality patient interaction, building relationships with each and every patient he treats.
In his free time, Dr. Burke enjoys boating and spending time on the water as well as reading, trying new restaurants, golfing, and traveling.
Dr. Salvi
General Dentist
Dr. Salvi is a general dentist limiting his practice to Endodontics. Dr. John Salvi was awarded his Endodontic Society Award and DMD Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine after attending Fordham University in the Bronx, NY. on a Scholastic/Athletic Scholarship. He was an All-NY State Champion in Football and track, graduating Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa. Soon after, Dr. Salvi furthered his studies in Endodontics at UCLA in Los Angeles, California. He returned to New York to further his academia at NYU College of Dentistry as a Clinical Instructor of Comprehensive Care. Dr. Salvi brings over 30 years of experience to GHD.
Outside the office, Dr. Salvi continues to enjoy movie and TV roles. His past stage name, was John Rocklyn, John Stevens where he was featured in “Prime Target”, “Hanging Heart”, and “Lady Mobster”. He also had a small part with Charles Bronson In “Assassination”. Presently, you may see him on Broadway as one of his theater roles may be produced in the near future. In addition to his love for theatre, outside of the office, Dr.Salvi is also a licensed Registered Behavior Technician. He spends his time helping individuals on the autism spectrum develop social skills, and overcome behavioral challenges.
Dr. Kim
General Dentist
Dr. Kim grew up in Florida where she attended the University of Florida, and finished her dental schooling at Nova Southeastern University in 2012. She recently completed training at the NYU College of Dentistry for a 1-year clinical aesthetics program where she was able to expand her cosmetic dentistry experience with a focus on veneers and crowns. Dr. Kim strives to provide painless dentistry and professional chairside manners for all of her patients.
Outside the office, Dr. Kim enjoys traveling, playing golf and tennis. She loves living in New York City with her husband and two beautiful children, exploring and experimenting different activities as much as they can. Living a balanced lifestyle is very important to her as well as spending quality time with her family and friends.
