Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is the most common cosmetic dental procedure done in the United States each year. People across the nation desire to have a beautiful, white smile in order to enhance their appearance. While many people will waste a great deal of money on over the counter strips, toothpastes, gels, and the like, the only way to achieve professional results is through the help of a dentist. Group Health Dental is proud to offer teeth whitening services for our patients here in Manhattan.

As we age, our teeth naturally become more yellow and less lustrous than they were in our youth. From the foods and beverages we consume, medications we take, habits we form, and natural wear and tear of the teeth, many people find that they wish that their teeth were brighter and whiter.

Over the counter teeth whitening products have been on the market for over three decades. While these products can effectively whiten some people’s teeth, those with significant yellowing, stains, and/or discoloration will not be able to achieve the results that they desire. At-home teeth whitening products by law are not allowed to contain the same concentration of bleaching agents that dentists are allowed to use in their practices. For optimal whitening results, people must see their dentist for in-office bleaching, or “chair side teeth whitening.” The bleach used by dentists is a potent bleaching agent that must be carefully monitored for safety in order for patients to achieve the results that they are hoping for. Dentists will also use a specialized light or laser to enhance the action of the whitening agent so that the teeth are able to be whitened up to ten shades.

At Group Health Dental, we are proud to provide our patients with the most professional teeth whitening experience. We utilize the latest teeth whitening technology to help our patients achieve a whiter, brighter, more radiant smile. Call today to discuss your options and to schedule an appointment.
