Dr. Brown

General Dentist

Dr. James Brown is a New York University College of Dentistry graduate who also completed his general practice residency. As a Group Health Dental team member for over 25 years, Dr. Brown enjoys working with patients to develop comprehensive care plans focused on everyone’s specific needs and concerns. Dr. Brown focuses on general dentistry, emphasizing esthetics and implant restorations.

Outside of the office, Dr. Brown is an ardent musician and guitar player.

Dr. Benito

General Dentist

Dr. Ramoncito Benito is an NYU Dental School graduate who completed his residency at Saint Joseph Hospital Trauma Center. His specialties include general and cosmetic dentistry. As a clinician, Dr. Benito was a member of a reputable honors program, and his primary goal is to help patients be happy with their smiles. (Also, Dr. Benito is famous for serenading his patients on occasion.)

Dr. Benito enjoys driving, racing cars, scuba diving, playing tennis, skiing, and cycling in his free time.

Dr. Efron

General Dentist

Dr. Harold Efron attended the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. Soon afterward, he moved to Brooklyn for a two-year trauma and dental residency at Woodhull Hospital. After practicing dentistry for nearly 30 years, he still looks forward to Monday mornings and enjoys work.

Dr. Efron is an avid soccer player who has played competitively since age seven. He enjoys reading everything and anything. As a proud resident of Park Slope, Dr. Efron has built a home with his fantastic wife and two wonderful sons in South Brooklyn.

Dr. Islam

General Dentist

Meet Dr. Islam, a Brooklyn native with a passion for dentistry, adventure, and the New York Knicks. After honing expertise at Hunter College and Creighton University School of Dentistry , he blend professionalism with a personal touch. As an unwavering Knicks enthusiast, Dr. Islam brings the heart of the city to every endeavor. Beyond the dental chair, he loves to travel with friends, exploring new cultures and cuisines, all while capturing moments through the lens of film photography. A recent running convert, he has conquered half marathons and aspires to tackle the NYC Marathon in November. Join this journey where Brooklyn meets global escapades, basketball dreams, artistic captures, and empowering strides towards personal milestones.

Dr. Kim

General Dentist

Florida native Dr. Angie Kim attended the University of Florida and finished her dental schooling at Nova Southeastern University. After completing her studies, Dr. Kim decided to further her training. She completed NYU’s College of Dentistry Clinical Aesthetics Program, where she expanded her knowledge and focus on veneers and crowns. Dr. Kim prides herself on providing painless dentistry and professional chairside manners for all patients.

Dr. Kim prioritizes living a balanced lifestyle and spending quality time with her family and friends. She loves living in New York City with her husband and two beautiful children, exploring and experimenting with different activities as much as they can. Additionally, she enjoys traveling, playing golf, and playing tennis for recreation.

Dr. Salvi

Endodontist

Dr. John Salvi is a general dentist focusing solely on Endodontics and brings over 30 years of experience to GHD. In school, Dr. Salvi was a New York State Champion in football and track, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. After attending Fordham University in the Bronx on a Scholastic and Athletic Scholarship, Dr. Salvi attended the Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, earned a Dental Medicine Degree (DMD), and was awarded the Endodontic Society Award. Soon after, Dr. Salvi furthered his studies in Endodontics at UCLA in Los Angeles, CA. Later, he returned to New York to further his academic career at NYU College of Dentistry as a Clinical Instructor of Comprehensive Care.

Dr. Salvi enjoys acting in movie, TV, and theatre roles. In addition to his love of drama, Dr.Salvi is a licensed Registered Behavior Technician. He spends his time helping individuals on the autism spectrum develop social skills and overcome behavioral challenges.

Dr. Salaverry

Periodontist

Dr. Kristina Salaverry is a periodontist passionate about oral health and overall well-being. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts with Honors at Dartmouth College, Dr. Salaverry attended Columbia University for her Doctor of Dental Surgery, where she also completed a residency in periodontics and obtained a Master of Science in Periodontics during her residency at Columbia University, where her research examined the prevalence of periodontal disease in patients with advanced heart failure.

In 2013, Dr. Salaverry published a paper entitled A Dentist’s Role in the Treatment of Halitosisin the October edition of the dental journal Compendium and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. In addition to private practice, she is an instructor of Clinical Dental Medicine at Columbia within the Section of Oral and Diagnostic Sciences (Division of Periodontics).

Dr. Salaverry specializes in preventing gum disease, treating bad breath, saving teeth when possible, and tooth replacement. Dr. Salaverry is excited to be part of a team that gives someone their smile back, can evaluate periodontal risk factors, and perform surgical and non-surgical treatment for periodontal disease, including dental implant placement.

Dr. Salaverry is a violinist with the New York Repertory Orchestra and performs in several concerts throughout the year, and is a member of the New York Junior League. She enjoys watching musical theater and movies, cooking, staying active through yoga and Pilates, and participating in her Fantasy Football™ League in her leisure time.
